Geocaching

Letterboxing huh? It's a little funny that we are getting ready (literally as I type this) to go geocaching - which is similar (I think) to letterboxing. We use a gps with coordinates and clues....

Hours of fun - we even found some "caches" when we were in Rome not long ago.....

So crazy! We've been wanting to try geocaching for a while now, just haven't gotten around to it! Tell me more, maybe I'll get jazzed!

It is very similar, but letterbox clues use landmarks rather than coordinates. Also, we use stamps to record finds (many of which are very elaborate) rather than leaving/finding trinkets. Some people do both.

I think I like the idea of stamps better than the trinkets in geocaches. I looked on the letterbox site to see if I could figure out where some where around me but the first one I clicked on was inactive - then the site froze up.
