I move to Washington. I was offered the position formally yesterday and after a little negotiating, I am happy to announce that I am the new visiting assistant professor of psychology at Whitman College.
I'm pretty happy, I admit it.

So, is Whitman in the cold part of the state, the rainy part of the state? When do you move??

Congratulations on your first Professorship (at least as Dr. Doan).
Whitman/Walla Walla is in the Columbia Valley part of the state which means it doesn't rain too much, but it doesn't get too cold either. Of course compared to the southwest it probably both rains more and is colder.
